Internet Explorer question
« on: 14 September 2011, 21:03:23 »

Hi all, :y

I had to wipe my C drive and reload Windows XP. Why is it, when I open Internet Explorer now, the page opens in a small size about 4" x 3". It means I have to click to go full screen.

On the original setup, the pages, like this forum, for instance opened in a bigger page, not full screen, but as I liked it really. As I use my 22" widescreen as my main monitor, full screen is a bloody big page ;D I prefered the slightly smaller version.
Is there a setting somewhere that you can use to set the page opening size, not full screen, but say about 3/4 screen :y
Sorry for the ignorance on this subject.........
TIA

Try dragging the window into a bigger size before closing it. It might open to that size next time  :-/

Open a single Internet Explorer window to the smaller size.
Drag the corners of the window until it completely fills the screen. Do not use the maximize button to enlarge the window.
Hold down the Ctrl key, and while holding it down use the mouse to click File and then Exit on the toolbar. NOTE: Do not use the "X" in the upper right corner to close the window.
Internet Explorer should now open in a full window.
If it still opens to a smaller size repeat the above but this time us the "Shift" key instead of the "Ctrl" key.

Try googling it. There are millions in a similar postion. Some people it happens occasionally, some people all the time, and some people it never happens to .

Think it bad programming by microsoft personally.

By default, Internet Explorer is supposed to open at the same size it was at the last time it was closed; however, sometimes the default setting gets out of sync, and you need to manually reset it. Here’s how.

1. Launch Internet Explorer.

2. Click one of the window corners and drag it out to completely fill your screen. Do not use the Maximize button.

3. Press [Alt] to view the menu bar (if you are using Internet Explorer 7).

4. Press and hold down either [Ctrl] or [Shift] while selecting Exit from the File menu. Do not use the Close button.

Now when you launch Internet Explorer, it should open in a full window. If it opens in the same small window, repeat the steps but hold down the opposite key in step 4, that is either [Ctrl] or [Shift].
