Pajero engine
« on: 25 June 2009, 13:36:14 »

Hello I have a dead Pajero 2.8 td that needs a new engine .  I can get an engine for about £700 they then want £350 to fit the engine and then as it would need recovery to them thats another £150.
My question is does anyone know anyone that could fit the engine for me at a better price .
I am not confident to do it on my own plus I do not have any where to do this work .   Any thoughts suggestions welcomed  :y

gaw blimey. Thats a big lump and a big high engine bay to lift it into. Or is it a case of lifting the car up and leaving the engine/subframe on the floor? Ramp or crane? Going to be difficult to help without specialist gear i guess?

I do not think the engine is that big its a four cylinder
but your right it is a big lift  :-/ I had not realised how tall the car is (its almost six foot tall) overall  :y

£350 just about covers around 5 hours labour, and that sounds about the right sort of time frame for an engine swap.
