Windscreen Cleaning
« on: 18 February 2010, 20:21:33 »

A couple of weeks back there was a post about  the best thing to clean windscreens. There were some good replies & I tried all of them with varying degrees of success, but none got rid of the 'silicon haze' I attributed to the dealer applying to tart the car up.
Then on Saturday, I saw swmbo cleaning the conservatory door glass with what turned out to be.... Cornflour & warm water :D and what's more it did a bloody fantastic job too  :o It removed the dog snot/drool & grandkids DNA samples with ease!!! So yesterday afternoon I gave the screen & other glass a good going over using an old green scourer & said mixture. Well, I have to say, it's a bit messy!  ::) You need to leave it on until it begins to dry, then remove the  bulk of it with a damp cloth & then polish up with a microfibre cloth. Result?.....

Sparkling clean glass with NO smudges  :D :D ;D ;D ;D ;D :y

Apparently she got the tip from Kim & Aggie from the 'How Clean Is Your House' TV show, so thumbs up to them too :y

Funny you say that - I was wondering how to get rid of the strange film from my windscreen t'other day.
It's so bad, sometimes it's pretty hard to see properly, especialy in this rainy/foggy weather.

ta for the tip - I shall try the cornflour thing this weekend! :y
