I believe these wheels belong to a member of this very forum!  Was a For Sale thread about them a fortnight ago.

worrying that the seller does not state manufacturer or tyre size - i would be very wary of these wheels and tyres as the rims are damaged and the tyres have been kerbed, kerbing is not usual, especially after 1,000 miles - always best to buy new tyres fitted by an authorised dealer with a guarantee, your life may depend on it... :y

also i saw a recent report about imported tyres from china being unsafe as the stopping distances were well outside the safety limit, always go to an authorised dealer.

Oh... And as long as that is the worst kerb damage then it's not too bad... Looks fairly superficial but who knows. They're certainly worth a punt if they don't go too high :y

yes it always pays to study the small print  :-[  but i would still only buy new from authorised tyre dealer whatever the cost, i wouldn't have used tyres as a gift ...i think i'm worth it  8-)

Agree with you... I'm not a fan of used tyres. But if I buy these I'll most likely have the tyres removed and the refurbish the wheels so the insides of the walls can be inspected for damage ;)

I dont understand.  Why not?  If the general condition of the tyre is good, no bulges, no uneven wear, no splits or cracks, then whats the difference?

A 'reputable' tyre fitting place may offer a guarantee, but that's not a lot of use when you suffer a blow-out and end up in a morgue.

Tyre's nowadays (decent branded ones) have exceptionally good build and design quality.  I'd personally rather use a quality brand part-worn tyre in good nick than spend the same money on new LingLang Sport Pro's (or whatever).  :y

Exactly! it makes me laugh when all these 'wouldnt touch used tyres' types are quite happy to buy a second hand car fitted with obviously used tyres ;D
