The stupid positioning of the horn cost me my car as i couldn't find it as i saw someone pulling out in front of me

That was exactly my original point, as the same happened to me 2 days ago, and is what prompted the thread. I was hoping someone would have come up with the comment that they had fitted one on a stalk or W.H.Y. in a fixed position, that would solve the problem. :-?

Edit: Although an accident was avoided by ABS use!

i find the horns in an excellent place, both sides of wheel, easily found with the thumb!

The horn is where I expect it to be  :-/

I find that the buttons tend to move around in circles when I move the steering wheel.  
It'd have been far better if there had been a central horn push too .... like its predecessor had

Nah, I think the location is good, right on the thumbs when driving enthusiastically .  Yes, buttons move with wheel, but so do thumbs

And its the same on the Rover, so all my cars follow the same layout. Great minds, and all that

No rage required. I've been in situations, ie car parks where I've had the wheel turned from the ahead position to find someone is reversing towards the side of my car but as there is no central horn push it means you have to look to find the buttons. They're obviously in such a good postion that Vauxhall have decided to include a central horn push on their more recent cars. Her Smart does at least have a modern take on the olde style horn rim of cars of old

I fimd it difficult under these circumstances to cross my arms more than twice, hence the hands tend to move around the wheel rim - unlike the horn buttons.

I see what TB is saying, drive at 10 to 2 all the time and the buttons are in the right position, but if it was central who cares .....

....in the mondeo(spit)one hand on the top of the wheel, like you do, slightest ping on of an indicator   on an adjacent car and the inside of your arm is an inch away from the horn, takes milli seconds and saved many a prang.

I, for one, am glad the horn is on the wheel (where it should be) and not on a stalk, at least .. the last car I had with a horn on the stalk, all I ever did was angrily wash my windscreen at someone and/or indicate erratically..

Hmm, well it is very interesting to see how many like the horn where it is, I can only assume that they steer as per F1 drivers, and don't move hands round the steering wheel much. I guess most of us do a mixture of both, but I never seem to have the horn immediately available to warn errant would be attackers.

Stupid radio
 - Volume control is u/s except for the steering wheel buttons (bit of a bonus in a way, stops anyone turning my favourite tracks down)
- Lousy reception on medium which becomes very crackly after a while, good thump on the side of the console cures it. For a while.

The volume knob on mine is starting to die, as does the radio start to crackle (on FM, AM is unusable)...

Horn I feel is in the right place..

I drive a TD, but, I also have to contend with a constant Oil Leak from somewhere, Where from I have no idea (Not Rocker Cover, Not Sump, Not FEOS, Not Dip Stick, Not Oil Cap) enough to leave a suitable black spot on my drive....

The matter of fact is, despite everything I can think of negative about my car, I wouldn't have another car in replacement of it, unless I really have to...
