I would let it defrost naturally then start it up and see if any harm has been done

The v 70 is a hardy beast should be ok but let it defrost naturally and tell him to put some antifreeze in it  ;D

can it be towed to somewhere indoors? will defrost quicker, and also it saves it being frozen all night, the longer it is frozen the more chance a frost plug or pipe etc can blow.

I had a 2.9 granada that froze on me, frost plug went, and it was a pain to get to.
