Phew - job done!

Taking my time, and working methodically, I reckon that start-to-finish was around three hours.
That included having to split/chisel-off the forward offside wishbone nut - so not too bad for a novice!

I followed chrisgixer's excellent guide:

However, a couple of points to note:
* Being a TD, you really need to release the oil cooler pipes from the filter base, as you'll encounter considerable difficulty accessing/removing/refitting the rear (vertical) wishbone bolt.
Although the oil loss is minimal, a drip-tray avoided any mess here.
* With both sides of the car raised off the ground and securely supported with stands, disconnect BOTH drop-links as your first task after removing the wheels.
The anti-roll bar can then be positioned upwards so as to aid removal/refitting of the 'bones themselves. This also made refitting of the lower ball-joint reasonably straightforward.
* Give all the nuts/bolts a good spraying with Plusgas or similar a day or two prior to doing the work - this really paid off!
Thanks to everyone's supportive comments on here - much appreciated, believe me!

It's now time to indulge in a nice hot bath, and thence sample some of Mrs Sethsmate's made home-made apple crumble with piping hot runny custard for tea - mmmmmm!

Thanks again everyone, from The Valleys!
