handbrake
« on: 09 July 2007, 13:35:30 »

hey all, my handbrake has been re tensioned but it still takes 7 clicks and then a further smidge with two hands to get it to stay put, can anyone tell me how easy/expensive it would be to have a new one put in? thanks

Hmmm, I hope its been done properly.

The handbrake on the Omega should be 4 clicks as a minimum and 6 clicks is about the norm.

As for the re-tensioned, I dont like the sound of it, the handbrake cable should be slackened right off, the rear shoe static positions set and then the handbrake cable adjusted....the handbrake must have slack in it when released.

If you dont do this you get issues.....mainly because the handbrake cable slack does vary dependent on rear loading
