Last time I lowered the petrol tank (on Tractor) it was fairly quick and easy, so thats always a possibility  :-/.  Is there room above it though :-/

I was thinking of running it in corregated tube from tank to top hat.

Unclear what gains (or disadvantages beyond it looks more challenging) Kevin Wood's route has  :-/
I looked at routing my pipe round the offside of the petrol tank and found very little to screw it to and lots of edges to protect it from IIRC. Would need to have another look under there to be sure.

You might get away with routing polyflex above the petrol tank. Might need to space it away from the boot floor a little perhaps?

Kevin Wood - LD has already said he wouldn't use anything other than polyflex, what are your views?

If you prefer routing it under the floor go with polyflex.

With hose you need to know an accurate length and you really need to offer up a dummy length of hose along the route to know that. With polyflex you can wing it and then cut it to length so from a point of view of ordering everything you need before starting the job it has an advantage.

Haven't ever had to live with a system that fills through a small diameter pipe so can't really comment on that.

You also want to tell him if that's what you're doing... He might be able to supply one of these (eGay Link) for the fuel outlet and one of the ones further down the listing for the fill end and filler end... Just for neatness :y

I have... My RR filled one of the three tanks through 8mm copper pipe (the 80L Single Hole Cylinder) and, TBH, I don't think it was any slower filling than my current setup at the same pumps :-/

hmmmm, I'm even less decided than I was before ;D.  Now I'm beginning to think Polyflex, for an easy life ;D.

Does that mean there isn't room for the large pipe above tank?

Only you can decide... But you've got plenty of Polyflex and would only need to buy £5 or so of ends instead of a £35 odd pipe ::)

Like I said, unless the rear of the filler was located within the passenger compartment (including the boot) I would use polyflex without a second thought ;) :y

ISTR that there's only about 15mm at the most :-/ :-/

If you go for JIC pipe and it's too short then it'll be a very short fitting weekend ::) ::)

Yep, no chance of getting the hose above the tank. IIRC, the tank is pretty much hard up against the boot floor, so I reckon it would need dropping a little to fit polyflex.

Sounds like polyflex is the best option. Especially given the cost. Don't think Jeremy ever got round to charging me for the filler pipe. Or telling me where to return the one that was too short. :-X

Re routing, can we not copy the mv6? Ie out of the boot floor screwed to chassis rail behind wheel arch/over drive shafts behind petrol filler and along the back of the cross member? Thought we had enough last time?

Re length I have some left over from last install, which we had available last time but didn't use iirc?

Re fill rate I assumed, possibly wrongly, that a single hole was slower to fill than 4 hole anyway?  :-/

Seems that route can only be used with polyflex, I was hoping to use the bigger stuff, but seems this may be a challenge, and needs the hose to be premade to a precise length...

If going for polyflex, remember you will need a boot to connect a duct on both sides of the airtight box. Mine came with one for one side, and a rubber boot to seal against the filler hose on the other.

Or just vent it with vent hose... This more than covers the cross section required in the COP ;)

I don't understand how you'd seal it at the tank end, though. :-/

When you say vent hose, I assume you mean the convoluted plastic stuff?

Yep... Tank comes with 2 vent "outlets" on the Gas Tight Box as standard, one of which we used for the JIC boot ;)

This type of box:

The fitting on the right hand side is a big rubber boot that seals to the jic hose. I don't remember getting anything that would seal that outlet to the convoluted tube, although I might be wrong.
