The ford examples I used were just that examples, although TB you seem to have a passionate dislike
When I was a teenager and first started driving ('93) I had a couple of minis (I know rust well too), which were everywhere.
Then all of a sudden you realise they just aren't about anymore.
Are the omegas likely to hang around longer?
Every Ford I've ever owned personally, or been responsible for (company vehicles), of which there are many, the only ones I ever rated were a K reg tranny (brilliant van, so much road presence, the traffic parts for you) and an R reg Fifi. Mind you, both them had shite engines
Most of them disappeared around me in a heap of iron oxide, just round about the time the engines expired around 80k
Don't worry, I've had some shite Poxhalls as well. Worse was a Belmont GLSi. Went like the clappers on the first engine (2nd was gutless in comparison), but never liked the thing. Only had it for about 3 months, still managed 30+k in it though
Want is surprising, I've never had a duff Rover. Every one has been comfortable, quick (for what it was), reliable and rust free. Must have been a good boy in a previous life
NOOO how dare you! lol
i had a belmont 1.8glsi when i was 17 was sooo much fun and quicker then my mates onions and xr2's loved it so much i got another one 3 years ago! they are mega rare now in that spec, mine was saved at the 11th hour £150 with tax and mot, 65k miles, and it hasnt failed a mot yet, even tho the last expired xmas lol
so many 80s cars have gone, i love any thing retro, iirc there is less then 1000 mk2 cavaliers left and i think its single numbers for mine, early spec 1600GLS.
there are definatly a lot more fords of that era left, ive never been a fan just look on ebay! some getting silly money too.
Im constantly changing cars (not a trader i just like to) and an omega has been on the list for ages, ive noticed how little are left now already, lots went to the scrappage schem for korean tin boxes.
Seen many other newer cars 7-8 years old ready for breaking, and anything 15 years old worth less then a grand is a scrapper for many smaller jobs, clutches, suspensions.
