Signums quite nice
« on: 05 July 2011, 19:26:26 »

Picked up an 03 2.2 Signum elegance today and I must say it's really rather nice, great steering and shifts well for a fairly big car. I would consider keeping it but as the Omega is near worthless it's easier to shift it on.

Weird back seat arrangement though and the overhead storage is novel.  Was this supposed to be the new omega?

No, it's a 'Businessmans' Vectra C, and it's terrible...... just like the Vectra C.

I do like the arse end of them though!  :y

Signum - they are crap but loved by the easily impressed.
Drove one of these for a week as courtesy car with 200 miles on the clock...
It was the worst ride I have ever had and felt totally unsafe and uncomfortable into the bargain. Although a deisel it did not give me any more than a FEW mpg either!
It was not a patch on my Elite in any way shape or form.
Bad design altogether and as noisy as all hell.....
Bring back the Elites :y :y :y :y

They are surprisingly big. I looked into them briefly. Then bought another omega.  :y

Shame though.  :-/

I nearly bought one, but missed out by being slow off the mark. Was impressed by the research I did though.
Then I nearly got an Astra estate, but it was took off sale, now looking at a Vectra estate.

I don't think anything will top the Omega, but they ain't getting any younger and my wife's fed up of having three non working ones on the frontage.

Been looking at the latest Seat Alhambra/VW Sharan as a future vehicle too and very very impressed... but i'll miss Vauxhall (unless the future Grand Zafira is any good.)

Vectra Elite Estate doing good post-Omega service but still not as nice to sit in.

One last Omega on the drive, one Corsa on the lawn...maybe they'll go to a good home before too long!

Had a couple of these both 2.2 petrol one manual & a facelift auto.
It is basically a big astra!! nothing like a traditional rwd big vauxhall saloon.
Not that great on petrol in fact my 2.2 mig is better get about 90 miles more out of a tank :y
The facelift one didn't have the storage in the roof & had the colour sat nav which was brilliant, good family car but prefer mig's  ;)
