Corsa air con question
« on: 14 July 2011, 16:55:26 »

hi guys,     got SWMBO a W reg 1.2 ecotech corsa to run around in . Nice little motor , she loves it anyway.

It has AC fitted but it does not seem to work.  started having a look at what it could be & when you pull the dash switch to put the AC on the "Frost" sign lights up but the compessor is not engaging at all . Had a look at the electrical connectors & all seem OK. checked 2 fuses that I think are for AC & both OK.

Any ideas where to start ?  TIA         AL :y :y :y

Need to get the gas pressures checked.

I have seen a couple of issues:

1) Failure of the main hose that runs along the left side of the engine bay

2) Condenser failure

3) O ring failure around the expansion valve on the bulk head.

thanks for the reply,

So would it be  that if any one  of these faults are there -  this would prevent the compessor from engaging ?  :-/ :-/ :-/

Mark means that any one of those potential faults will result in low gas pressure, which in turns prevents the compressor from engaging.  :y  :y

Also look for any cables or pipes rubbing against the alloy a/c pipes...can wear a hole in them very quickly.

No. The low pressure switch will stop it from doing so.  :y
