after all we prepared another seperate door (from a friends body repair shop) for color matching trials.. surface cleaned completely with solver.. sanded with 80 ..2 layers of epoxy applied.. now is in drying period.. after color coat will be applied .. and we will test the final color mixture with laquer..

I searched for that device

(info here
http://www.konicaminolta.com/instruments/products/color-measurement/spectrophotometer/cm512m3/index.html
)

but its too expensive  :( and is available only in 2 services (toyota service) here.. so borrowing is not logical as we will need it many times.. so back to traditional trial error method >:(

when you buy this also you need a software to arrange mixture proportions.. and also a glossmeter etc etc.. :-/

Apart from the knocks & scrapes cars pick up in general use, salt from the roads during the winter is the biggest problem we have in this country. Cars will rust, but rust even better in salty water.  :'( :'(

best method is to use epoxy under the car (its used in ships for water isolation) ( at least 4 layers or more.. and you will need a lift.. downside is epoxy is expensive , dries late and its poisonous..

but after you can work even with hammer and epoxy will stay :)

after countless/numerous color trials on test panels/cards as seen below (including original laquer which will be used)

which cost more than a week and some money, we ended up with a 99.9.. matching color ;D

as the original color mix by standox was a disaster >:( (too dark) started with 100 gr test portions (few trials), dropped the black (17 gr)  and blue color (1.9 gr)  to half amounts  .. then prepared 2 kg solution and mixed extra 25 gr white, 3 gr red (which was not in formula) and 8 gr yellow and additional 0.5 gr blue..

these are incremented slowly by paintshop.. tested on cards then panel..all tests are done on sunny times from different angles.. so no sun no test :(

and DDAY.. after 40 days of preparation.. 18 june..

 >:(

but..

I was prepared.. as I follow meteorology..

2 hours before the rain started the car was ready in front of the paint shop in nylons ;D

and forcing the paint shop to arrange the hours as we were the last car..god knows today what problems I had..painter busy with other customers, shop busy etc etc..
