Idiots

Sorry this is going to sound really high hoarse initially, but I think it's justified.

1.  Recent trip north up the m40, on a section with a fast long left hand bend, quite bumpy, and opens out into a real bad dip affecting all 3 lanes. It's a real "wump" type affair, it dips quickly into a sudden rise and back down to normal level in the space of about 30ft.

Nothing about sept me for once, and I'm coming up on a car in the middle lane just before this bump. Pull into lane 2 then 3 in plenty of time and notice the car has been played with. An old Vw jetta. Lowered with smaller after market rims, roll bar, stickers etc... And apparently no suspension movement at all. Mirrors are so far out of adjustment as to be useless, baseball cap with extra large peak rubbing on the roof lining, Mrs with red hair in passenger seat reading, doing 60, in lane 2 as said.

He hits the bump and tenses up at the same time... And I'm not kidding you this bloody car took off. Both wheels in the air. Hits the ground again, she drops her book and lands in the passenger foot well, didn't see a seat belt, his baseball cap falls down over his eyes and the whole joking match starts swerving around all 3 lanes in front of me trying to recover the situation

Pmsl.  ;D

2 local car modder fitted new wheels and painted them orange. Roll cage, Stripped out interior, no back seats or carpets except for a baby in baby seat in a saxo. pregnant female in passenger seat, and eejit driving. Pulls onto main road when one of bright orange wheels falls off the car and heads straight towards a bus queue. Car carries on unaware until right turn at a round about where it digs a trench in the road and stops.

Local inquiry on returning the drivers wheel to him, as he still doesn't know where the wheel is, reveals wheel spacer on the hub with no threads in the first 5 mill of the bolt holes. Obviously didn't get longer wheel bolts for Xmas or birthday.

At least he had the foresight to paint the wheels a dayglo colour.

Frightening. ::)

Problem is, these cretins will eventually see modified cars banned. :(

Yep your conversations in gen chat haven't been ignored. We all make mistakes of course, but this is way beyond absent mindedness. And if modifying is banned I will have some sympathy tbh. But as you say elsewhere on here, these morons don't comply to the rules we have now. Simply  introducing more rules will mean they ignore those as well while the rest of us, who simy want yo change our own oil, suffer the consequences, and have to pay a similarly minded "qualified professional" "Hoody" to do it for us potentially.

The saxo driver had no insurance tax or Mot.

Don't worry, Europe will bring in EU wide rules to ban modified cars and kit cars just as soon as they possibly can, I'm sure - and not because of folks like this..

(I'm surprised the whole industry has lasted this long, really  :-/)
