Got a P2279 on the Zafira :(

removed it, and lets see if it comes back tomorrow  ???

Sorted my dickey screen washers and fitted a new ashtray mechanism. Will be stripping the other down any maybe modifying it in some way (as I really have no use for an ashtray, but an ipod/tomtom dock, or similar could be useful  :)

yes, thanks to TheBoy for that, disconnected the battery early this morning , ok for me as it does not have radio, sun roof  or display to reset as its an ex plod MV6, came with a spare pair of handcuffs, and no rear window winders nor connected cigarette lighter in the back - its no bother though as the car has had an easy carefree life with a previous careful lady owner who worked for a home counties constabulary ;) I was told

Re-fitted camcover gaskets to stop an oil leak that was pissing me off after changing the HG's a couple of weeks ago... now no oil leak or burning smell when the engine gets warm :)

Whilst I had everything apart I thought Id have an 'experiment' with a 2.6 inlet manifold I had with black injectors fitted... dunno if its made any difference to the power output but I suppose I have bragging rights that its running on 2.6 injectors...?

But, it doesn;t have an oil leak anymore and is running so am happy with the way it is....

Just need to tackle the rear arches now - ready for Billing :)

I would be interested in seeing a thread dedicated to this mod, minifreek, plus other bits n bobs  :). Many will say 'no point in modding a 2.5, just buy a 3-litre', but that's not always practical, especially when you and I are probably happy tweaking and maintaining an engine we know, and are 'used to', vs buying an unknown one off someone else, and then all the pitfalls that can occur upon swapping out an engine.

Iv done a few things to this engine now TBH and quite happy with its performance...

G cams X 4
'Long Nose' conversion
3 litre bottom pulley (almost as light as the courtney alloy pulley ;))
Removed AC
EGR blanked
2.6 Inlet manifold and black injectors... The inlet manifold is 3mm in diameter larger than the 2.5 and 3.0 inlet manifold :)
3 litre lower divider, makes no difference TBH but you will have bragging rights...

Probably other things Iv done but forgot...

Had it on RR and it made approximately 195 BHP :) happy with that, the operator said it could possibly do more but the autobox kept changing down a gear when he went for a power run LOL and couldn't hold it in 1 gear....

400 mile / 8 hour round trip in the Galaxy to take SWMBO and daughter to a hospital appointment in Oxford,

Galaxy went into limp mode twice  :( almost certainly due to soot build up in the swirl flap mechanism, The fix is fairly straightforward - drop the manifolds, split the swirl flaps from the turbo and give the mechanism a good clean :y Not looking forward to removing the manifolds though  :-\

Been playing with mig today. Fitted my new head unit and also a cup holder :D. Just need to get a half DIN blanking plate and I'm done. Really pleased with how it turned out.

It's also a VAG cup holder so hopefully should last longer than a Chinese eBay number
