Tried to book it into BMW to reprogram the Abs ecu.

And subsequently failed...

Apparently £140 worth of computer time equates to needing the car all day >:( which means waiting four weeks until they have a courtesy car available. Wtf ???

Why didn't you send yours off to BBA Reman or similar for testing/repair?  :-\

If you factor in the cost of your replacement ecu + reprogramming, I wouldn't have thought the cost would have been much different.  :-\
Possibly, but equally it should have long been SEP ::)

SEP?  ???  :-\

Why would it be any better or worse than anything else? Battery technology hasn't changed since your dad was born...

New lower arms, headlight restoration and bulb upgrade, chafed wiring to n/s indicator repeater fixed before being presented for and passing MOT.
Oil change and breather clean. All courtesy of Serek. Top job  :y

Because it would be used regularly? I've not had to touch the 3.2's battery for least a year and it's only been driven once a week for past 5 months or so. Not sure why you appear to suffer such bad battery loss  :-\

Perhaps it's because he's one of those people who break everything they touch? ;D
