Gracenote gets updates same time as satnav for me, daft thing but nice to see the album pictures when listening to tunes.
Can the oracle not find out how to update?

Investigated an oil drip on rear bellhousing fearing it to be failing rear crank seal.
Checks revealed it to be split breather hose from cam cover to mesh filter.
Had new genuine GM set in stock  so cleaned out mesh and fitted new hoses.  Phew...!
Also noticed a single coolent drip on tray undr oil filter. Followed it back up to under cambelt cover.
Removed cover and found waterpump showing very slight seep at bottom. Only two of the three torx set screws can be accessed due to tensioner so removed belt and tensioner to nip all three up.
All rebuilt and tensioned so will check if all ok on run out tomorrow ,if not will dismantle and fit nw O ring next week.
Belt and water pump done less than 2K miles ago so believe it just needed tightening.
We'll see.

To be fair, it hasn't been updated since 2013.

And the map will be 12-24 months out of date at that point as well...   ...though in reality, not many roads have been completed in that time frame, aside from new housing estates etc.

So whats wrong with it, just roads are out of date, or something else (that an update wont fix)?  I always maintain that any factory fitted one is leagues ahead of any portable unit.  Even the NCDC in Omegas is a very, very good unit compared to even modern portable units, apart from even the newest maps are now 10yrs our of date (and millennials will get hung up on lack of postcodes). NCDC isn't the easiest to use, mind, beyond the basic "take me to this address"

Been very happy with mine tbh, Mine is the fully built in Comand though.
I wanted to update mine for 3 main areas:
1, My Commute - I use satnav there and back to let me know if there are areas I need to avoid,  It didnt know about a new major road into Crewe, which is often the best route in when its busy.
2, The Mersey Gateway - This is a new mersey crossing, Old Runcorn / Widnes bridge currently shut too, can be a bit awkward to navigate when it thinks your in the river!
3, There is a kind of Stockport 'relief road / bypass' that starts at Manchester Airport, lets you bypass a load of Motorway / traffic which is handy visiting family.

So the updates are going to prove valuable to me, The extra roundabouts / housing developments / poi's are all a bonus too, as it the updated gracenote db.

Ive the maps and instructions too now for when AA fancies a try at updating his.

An M3 was egging me on this morning, but being a reformed character, I didn't rise to it.

On the way home, I was feeling a bit frisky as an M5 came past at a decent rate, and did rise to it. And lost. Badly .  Now I need more fuel.

It's Saab Ice Blue,which is probably the same,I think it suits the car though and is one the things that caught my eye to start with

Noticed the coolant message was on so popped the bonnet to find that the sensor bobble has popped off its pin.    This coolant tank was new from Vauxhall about two years ago so I'm going to try to reinforce the top of the pin on the next one.

Chucked a few miles on one of the abused company hack F-types, I could quite live with one of those, most enjoyable.

Snow-foamed, washed, polished and waxed both cars at the weekend .. my right arm still hurts. Wax on, wax off, Miyagi-san. Both really need a proper machine polish, though.

Noticed that the water leak we thought we'd cured on her Mini has got worse, so it wasn't the header tank after all. Balls. Off to Seattle next week so the Mini is off to the local specialist for a pressure test and diagnosis (and maybe fix if the cost isn't an arm and a leg) - probably water pump, rear transfer pipe or thermostat. Or the radiator. Or the pipe on the bottom of the header tank (£60 for that pipe!). Or somewhere else. Definitely in the engine bay, though

The 2WD version was more fun. The 4WD version felt 'safer'

Both were very fast and both made a noise like the end of the world.

Just a 380 V6 AWD in this one, a pleasant noise when the 'spectacles' button is pressed, never felt it needed more power but, I must try and get hold of the project 7 for a play

Not me, but the Desmond I gifted to the parents has beaten the MOT tester for another year  Just an advisory (or whatever they call them now) for a chip in the windscreen.

Up to 115k and so far only had regular service items, crank position sensor and an alternator. Not bad for a 16yo bus!
