The standard crank has a limit of about 750bhp.

iirc Rob snapped his when he got a bit carried away theblower on his VXR :D

I thought we were talking about LS engines? Get a 6.0l one and 750hp is doable NA without removing the sump.


The thing you have to worry about with boost is opening up the ring gaps. How about 1200hp from a 4.8 with two turbos? LINK I know that has some serious parts, but the rods, crank and pistons are not only stock, but it's a used junkyard engine.

There are a few friends of mine running Well over 600 bhp on just forge pistons and rods (two litre Evo engines) at around the two bar mark.  With supporting mods, injectors pump exhaust intake etc of course. If they are very well mapped, they last quite a while too ;D

Put some electricity in the Jag.  I really should drive it somewhere, but its an arse to get in and out of central londonium multi-storey carparks, and I've not had to o to the non London sites for months ;D

Topped it up with air, using a jumpstarter with built in mini compressor, because my normal compressor is MIA

As it was the first dry day in ages, I fitted the second hand starter that turned up last week on the Mondeo.  :)

All good...... so far!  :y

I did a bit more dismantling which is what I probably should have done in the first place.  ::)

Paid that nice Mr Khan £30 to drive the Jag into that utter shite hole commonly called London.  And paid NCP £36 to park it.  Still, cheaper than a slower train. And a damn sight more comfortable as well.

I might have mentioned it before, but I really do detest London with a passion.

Removed the filthy steering rack sub-frame from my old Rover 216gsi (1990).

Attacked it with my trusty Black and Decker power file and a wire cup in my angle grinder.

As usual with this 31 year old car, a number of rust holes have appeared so out with the welder!!!

Paint will go on tomorrow. That's another job done  :y

Must be the only part of the country where it hasn't hissed it down all day. Unless, of course, you have an indoor workshop.
