Engine is fine, but the chassis rails, sills and bulkhead are rotten, the diff leaks badly and the gearbox is kaput. It's done it work :)

Much like my old Silver Bullet - the engine was a cracker, but the chassis needed a lot of expensive welding....   ...and then the gearbox decided it was getting bored with me constantly showing idiots how to make progress.  It probably just needed a fresh lot of ATF, but reality was the car had done its time, and I'd been nursing it through until I could find a car I was happy to compromise on.

I still miss it, though.  And Mrs TB hasn't forgiven me for letting TBE go.  The Omega, it seems, is impossible to replace.

Got to agree out of all the cars I've owned my Omega is the car that I regret selling the most, sold it because I'd always wanted a V8 Merc which was nice but in reality no better than the 2.6.

Yesterday we[step daughter and myself]took the V70 even further oop North to a place called Billingham in Stockton on Tees to pay for/collect a C70 convertible she'd won on e-bay auction. Not the best day weather wise to collect a convertible,at one point on the way there on the A1 the wipers were on fastest setting and it was still extremely difficult to see where we were going it was raining that hard.journey back so much better with hardly any rain at all.

Drove it to Banburyshire and dumped it at the station

I wonder if it will still be there when I get back?
