Congratulations on the MOT pass  8)

my handbrake still worked , I replaced he cable from my parts hoard (QH branded)  as it was getting stiff ,
new return springs (genuine Vauxhall) & new GM pads for the rear ,disks are OK
I strip the brake pads, disks every year before MOT ,check condition, clean, lubricate the slides etc ,
had to re-order return springs for the parts hoard 4241345, 12783879-PMX14 4241345 (genuine Saab branded where cheaper)

But I'm a weirdo  :P

Had the Range Rover valeted , usually do it myself but just too cold & windy today, new place just opened up special half price offer £49.50 for the  top of the range job so thought I'd give it a try everything cleaned & polished interior looks like new , now tucked away in the garage.

I bet you'll do it all again on the next sunny day when you get it out and spot a smidge on the paintwork or a speck on the seat!  ;D

Had a mishap at the worst time. Wifey and me are having a short weekend away for our silver wedding anniversary, up in the usual place in N Yorkshire. Got all loaded up and set off. Google Maps, being the know-all bastid it is, took us off the main roads and through a small village called Badsworth. Narrow roads and parked cars. A t**t of a van driver came around a parked car and forced me onto the pavement. Bang....tyre knackered. Car full of stuff and a dog crate in the back  >:(
Had about 70 miles ahead of me, so I wasn't gonna do it with a space saver. So......emptied the car out on to the pavement, including dog and crate. Drivers were now getting pissed off, and very close, to my car. Changed the wheel, full size wouldn't go into the well properly, so couldn't get the crate back in. Collapsed the crate, dog on wife's knee in the front, back to Barnsley for a new tyre.
Set off, from the same place I had two hours earlier, and drove along narrow country lanes and up Sutton Bank in the dark, which I'd left early enough to avoid, or so I thought. Here now, but still hacked off at van driver.

As an aside, the 60mph twisties with cats eyes are no problem, but the ones without are not nice. Couldn't put main beam on very often because of oncoming traffic (although that didn't seem to bother some of them). All of those roads should have cats eyes.

That's actually another one of my gripes about google maps, Ron. I wasn't clean, but the village certainly was. Beautiful, in fact, with really friendly people asking if everything was okay. Rammed to the gunnels with traffic because it's obviously a shorter route to the A1 and, thanks to google maps, everyone knows that now. I would be mightily pissed off if I'd paid the money those houses must be worth.

Found the fault on mine. Put simply, it was designed by a useless Scottish idiot. Boy would I love to have a chat with him about how shit he is.

Replaced the wheel arch liner on hers, after the old one was wrecked by some debris 2 or 3 weeks back.  Job made harder by the fact it was designed by a useless Scottish idiot.  Did I mention I want to educate the idiot?

Started stripping down the Kraton, following its dunking in the sea.  2 seized wheel bearings and a seized motor bearing so far.  Designed by somebody in Derby I believe, and quite well designed.  Built in China, very poorly ;D

It should be in his contract to daily drive every car he's ever been involved in but only used examples with over 100k on them. That might up his game.
