Campsite with bar (altho this site only appears at AT time)......if its the one im thinking off.....its along a track next to Gate G.....right by the perimeter fence......so doubt you will leave the site  ;D ;)
If its the one.....nearest pub is about 1mile away......and is about £14/£15 taxi ride (its the plus charge for Fairford that makes it expensive!) .....but sure i could do it for less  ;)

Is that the one on the N side of the runway (right side per normal takeoff)?   If so we usually camp there.   Were planning to go on Sunday but the forecast is crap at the moment.
Can't wait for the return of the Vulcan - still remember the multi sensory experience of one flying low overhead when I was little.

Shame the B2 has stopped coming to Fairford

Ummmm dunno.....Gate G is the main reception gate for the AT (not to be confused with base Main Gate, which is other side)

All i know is from Kempsford direction.....you hit a sharp right hand bend at the perimeter fence.....if you go right Gate G is on the left just before a left turn that takes you down the side of the base (this road has roadworks on it at tho mo and takes you to Welford village) If you turn left at the sharp right bend.....you come off the main road and run down a track.....which leads to campsite.....last year i know they had a bar......dunno about showers/other facilities tho.

Wehay, what a fantastic day it was (even on the sunday with a few light rain showers). Who said the Red Arrow trainer was just for the kids to sit in, the RAF bloke was more than happy to let me have a sit in it as well!

As my 1st air display I was more than impressed (although a little disapointed about the Vulcan not being there), was nice in the Jubilee Garden with the food / bar/ toilets without queues! needless to say I will be going back next year.
