Very nice Omega, love it.  And it can turn corners at speed unlike the GTE  ;D

Great in a straight line,i had Irmscher shocks and springs fitted and it still hated turning. As the car is park in the pic someone came of there drive opposite hit the car and put it on the pavement.I had the GSI wheels and the Irmscher side skirts fitted on the insurance, along with the suspension. Yes, super fast straight line car, just had no steering, very scary.  But looked the business.  IMHO the 1.8 Escort RS Turbo was the safer option.  :y

I had the 8v 2.0 GTE. As stated, couldn't do corners, but really predictable, and easy to get tail happy...

I'm too young to have ever been in one nor driven one, but it seems it's a long-standing tradition for FWD Opels/Vauxhalls to not do corners  ::)

Very nice looking car - it certainly looks well cared for.

I have one question though - where did you get the little air intakes next to your front fogs?  I've never been a fan of the grilles mine has and wouldn't mind swapping them for a set of those.

Nice looking motor Dave  :y

We've all been down the boy racer route I guess, but as a 'dad cruiser' I'm really happy in the Omega.

Thanks to another member on here i found them here http://www.superspeed-carstyling.co.uk/merchant.ihtml?pid=663&step=4 .I paid about £100 for the two, they took 2 months to arrive.,but they do finish the front off.

Cool, thatks for that.

I emailed them and they charge £95 + £8 P&P - and while they look a lot better than the grilles I'm not sure about spending over £100 on them, plus a can of paint..

Maybe next time I get a bonus at work I'll order a couple without looking at the numbers!

I agree a lot of money for what they are, my car was going into the body shop to have a scratch done. The finish was very poor and need a lot of work before they were sprayed.

Very nice car, i did not go the route of fast Vauxhalls unless you call a Viva HA trying to get rid of it's rust fast. :-[

Was more into Capri 3 Litre MK2. and Ford Escort MK2 with 1.6 litre engine in, well it was in the 70's. :o :o

You can still surprise the boy racer with the Dad cruiser though. ;D ;D ;D
 8-)
