Family Holiday to The Lake District
« on: 30 August 2009, 21:11:49 »

Took our Mig to the Lakes last week. 323 miles done easy as!! got out feeling refreshed. It really is the BEST motorway cruiser I have ever owned. racked up another 400 odd miles doing the sights and came home.
Best road was the B5289 from Keswick, thru Borrowdale and up & over the Honister Pass into Buttermere then complete the round trip up the Newlands pass (a minor v.steep road ) back to Keswick. Highly recommended.

The view from our Chalet

The top of Honister Pass (nr the slate mine)

at the wheel!!  :)

We don't always appreciate how green and pleasant our land really is. :)

Yep its actually regd in early 02 on a 51. The reason i chose my plate is that I am a Explorer Scout Leader with the 27th Enfield hence... S 27 ENF .. kinda sad but I like it :)  ;D

That one from slate mine, the RAF often fly through that valley - I sight to behold if you are up the top of the mountain above the actual mines, looking down on the jets flying through!
