Old Car... New Vauxhall wheels.
« on: 04 January 2009, 00:17:20 »

Thanks once again to Ebay. Brand new set of genuine VX wheels complete with "never touched the road" Bridgestone Tyres..£260 all up.

Apparently they came from a brand new Astra and they went straight on. Offset is very slightly out but looks and feels like I got away with it.

Yes !  They are only 16"...higher would have been better but hey..worth the money for the tyres alone.

ALSO...with the lower profile when the speed sais 90mph, the SatNav confirms the speed to be 81mph....only "slightly" out...??????

Im sheepishly gonna say I think I read somewhere that all some omegas are 4mph out between speedo and MID display so which do you believe. Obviously satnav should be correct.

Thank you for your kind comments:

Funny little story regarding the car. Found her on AutoTrader, now baring in mind I'm in Ipswich, Autotrader calculated that the Omega was 60 miles away...SO I arranged with the seller AND my 81 year Father to pop down to see it within a couple of hours, my Father saying he'd drive me.

Finally asked where the seller and the car was and he said Hearne Bay.....in Kent. Soddin ain't 60 miles, well not by road via the Dartford tunnel it wasn't..AS the crow flies, straight out to sea over the Thames Estuary it could well be..........SO 5 hours later after a tramatic trip on the train, through London on a Friday night rush hour...I finally picked her up around 9pm.

Look nice, I was gonna stick a pair on mine if I didn't get the snowflakes I did. Think they're from an Astra aren't they

It gives that impression from the pics yes...but its the way I parked up the drive..

On the flat she sits just right....perhaps could be a bit better if I lowered her BUT enjoy the comfort to much !
