The Exhaust in this picture has been removed and a more tasteful twin tip back box put on :)

Wouldn't it being ex-plod make it an MV6 not an Elite?

Plod have always used MV6 specials, slightly lower with stiffer suspension and less toys than the Elite. They do show on the log book/database as Elites though.

It's neither an Elite or MV6. It's a 'special'. The V5C will say 'special' on it.
I'm not suprised your insurance company classed it as an Elite though. As the 'special' model was only available to the police it was never an official retail model.

Plod have always used MV6 specials, slightly lower with stiffer suspension and less toys than the Elite. They do show on the log book/database as Elites though.

The prefacelifts were like that Lee, can be quite confusing. A fair few appear as Elite's on the V5C.
However, when the facelifts came out they were simply called 'specials' on the V5C. Some of the early 'V' plate facelifts were called MV6's. But my 2001 'Y and 2002 '02' are both 'specials.'
The particular car here is an ex Thames Valley Police one, and will be a special on the V5C.
