scrap metal is 135 quid a tonne at my local scrappies

But to take a car to a waste recycle plant mate you need a waste licence (so i was told) and without 1 you can face a £2000 on the spot fine so i would rarther just take cars to the scrapyard then risk the chance of a 2grand fine

You need a waste license to scrap a car yourself.  You can take a car to a car recycling centre (scrappie) and they buy the car off of you.  Ne need for any license yourself

Scrappies pay diddly squat round here lucky if you get 50 notes for the whole car .
