WANTED Xenon auto-levelling for ESTATE
« on: 23 November 2010, 22:23:36 »

Xenon auto-levelling function bracket for the n/s/r rear, must be from Estate.

Reason being to compensate for higher ride height after fitment of estate springs on saloon. The effect has been to make headlights point rather lower than the mot man approved of!

Just wondered if anyone had something kicking around  :y As ever, thanks in advance.

addendum:
more detail found here http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1290544569 sounds like just bracket required, and I need a 'good breaker'...think i can find a reputable breaker on this site?? hmmmm.... ;) :D ;) ;)

Adjust their aim then!  :-? Look on top of your headlights, there are two adjusters, up/down and left/right 5 o6 mm allen key. It takes loads of turns to make an appreciable difference to the beam height but you'll get there.
All assuming that the adjusters haven't broken inside, in which case you'll need a pair of ally adjusters available via the forum.  :y

Is that correct? ooh, ta

I just assumed that the adjustment was only 'fine', but also 'finite', didnt think you could adjust indefinitely.

Thanks, will give that a go.

As you say though, maybe all this is irrelevant if the headlamp adjusters are broke. A job for the morning, methinks!

And to confirm a pm ive just had, if i were to adjust the beams at the adjustment screws, would the self-levelling element of the lights continue to function correctly?

Should have worded that a bit better, really!! :D :D I was just confirming that there wouldnt be some conflict, as presumably the headlamp adjustment screws are intended for only smaller, incremental tweaking, rather than the larger adjustment that were talking about.

Got a feeling the little blighters are bust inside anyway!  :'( :'( :'( :'(

The adjusters inside an HID headlight are just like that of any other headlamp in that you adjust them correctly in front of your garage door or the MOT beam wotsit machine. The auto bit is then just like the electrical motor of other headlights with the 1 2 & 3 positions, the motor then adjusts about that setting as a reference point.

No prob's... The price I quoted was for the complete sensor and bracket, didn't realize you only needed the bracket!

Also I'm confused as to why Vauxhall would have two different types of bracket? If they could get away with just one for all models then surely they would have?
