 I was sitting at my computer about 20.00 tonight when i heard a crash from the back of the flat(i live in the upstairs flat of a block of two) went to investigate in the bathroom first where i found what looked like a piece of slate about 2" square in the bath , looked out of the open window just in time to here a huge thud on the wall lower down .
 
 The young lady who lives downstairs and her 7\8 year old Daughter were in the garden below me and were missed by a huge rock the size of your fist by a few feet. The garden at the rear is approx. 50' long backing on to a service road for the local primary school and who ever threw the rocks were hiding behind some bushes in that road.

 I immediately phoned 999 thinking this would get a quicker response as this was the second time this had happened in a week and having no response from the local police station the last time apart from a phone call 2 hours later to see if i still required someone to come out .

 2 1/2 hours,(22.30) later the door bell went so went down and answered the door, on opening and considering i'm 6' tall i looked down with my chin almost on my chest to see what i thought was a child dressed in a police uniform, well this WPC was 5 foot nothing if she was an inch and then a voice from my right said good evening and this other WPC stepped into the light and she looked like a fashion model, slim and really good looking. Well, how i didn't burst out laughing was just self control on my part i think, really expected Jeremy Beadle to jump out from somewhere though;D.

 They stayed about 4 or 5 minutes saying there was not a lot they could do, just that it would be reported, they then went apologising for the time it took to attend .

  Does someone really have to be hurt, dying or killed to get some sort of attention from the law(contradiction in terms) these days .

Hurt or killed before they do anything these days and if Joe Public confronts these louts he gets the abuse and attacked as one story is sadly reporting today...

Really sorry to hear that mate.  

Fact is the police are useless when it comes to low-level crime.

I heard a story of someone who sent a postcard to the police to say that he'd been burgled. He figured it would get a quicker response.

I am STILL waiting for the little b@stard that broke my sons arm in June to be arrested.

It has also taken 22 months and 5 visits to South Africa for my wife to finaly get the South African public prosecuter to agree to charge the b@stard that shot my adopted son in the back, charged with his murder.

            You certainly don't seem to have any reason to give the Police any thanks .

 I think we are fast becoming a lawless society especially going by recent events(motorcyclist shot on M40 , Man in Warrington killed for telling youths about kicking his car , Shall i go on!!!).

  Don't know what the answer is, if there is one that is .

It would have been a quicker response if you'd said you'd rounded up the little batsrads and were going to shoot them.

If it weren't for the fact that kids always got away with pranks like this (let's face it, bu66er all would have happened even if the Police caught them in the act) they wouldn't graduate to more serious crimes.

i reported several incidents to the police years ago about a gang of chavs that would harrass me for no reason if they ever saw me on my own, not a thing was done.. until i was 19 and got jumped by 8 of them and beaten unconscious

one of the 8 got a caution, the other 7 didn't even get spoken to

A lad at work used to get attacked by a gang - however he had a large friend with various GBHs so they went around picking them off one by one - a few were hospitalised

This is the true story of George Phillips of Meridian, Mississippi, who was going up to bed when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the garden shed, which she could see from the bedroom window. George opened the back door to go turn off the light but saw that there were people in the shed in the process of stealing things.

He immediately phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?" and he said no, but explained the situation. Then they said that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock his door and an officer would be along when available.

George said, "Okay," hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again.

"Hello I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people in my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now cause I've just shot them all."

Then he hung up. Within five minutes three squad cars, an Armed Response unit, and an ambulance showed up at the Phillips' residence. Of course, the police caught the burglars red-handed.

One of the policemen said to George: "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"

George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"

Unless you have the person committing the crime trapped and a signed confession the police wont do sod all for the general public.....if at all possible take the law into your own hands and deal with it yourself,i know many will not agree with this but ive been stuck in the middle of a battle between my mum and her ex,dispite repeated threats to assault and rape her and finally threats to myself and phoning the police on numerous occasions with them saying terribly sorry nothing we can do blah blah until he"s raped/assaulted or run you down then we can act (I kid you not).

Took it open myself to find him guilty and decided to extract my own form of punishment......ok so the police arrested me and charged me but the problem never came back.

Take the law into your own hands....you know it makes sense.

Be extremely careful getting involved, don't even talk to them unless you are ready for a fight.  Of course, in the states most houses have guns, which helps a lot!

    I know what you all mean lads, either exact revenge and end up in prison or leave it alone and end up Hospitalised or worse great choices :-/ .

Just look at the poor sod who got murdered outside his house. If he had called the police nothing would have happened, if he had hurt the poor darlings who were damaging his property he would have got locked up. In the end his family have lost their father and the press can't even report the names of the b*st*rds who killed him.

'Tough on crime, tough on the causes of crime'. Don't make me laugh.
