Hard to start
« on: 29 November 2008, 10:33:32 »

I am new here so pls be patient. My Omega 2.2 CD is hard to start when really cold. I had a Vectra some years ago & had same problem so I replaced what I call the "heater plugs" Is the Omega the same & what is involved in changing them. My Omega is 2003. I hope someone can help & tell me the proper name as the weather is getting colder. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum Billy.
Post your problem in the general help section, the resident experts tend to spend more time there. It will also help if you fill in some details in your avatar.I believe all 2.2 engines are petrol so wont have heater plugs.
If you fill in your location ,there may be someone who lives nearby who could help.  :y

Hello & Welcome, good luck with your problem..

Sounds like you are refering to glow plugs, which are diesell only.

Is your current car diesel?

Good morning & welcome along :y
This may sound a daft question, do you park on a hill/slope over night?
At a certain mileage the diesel injection seals start to fail & this allows diesel to drain back. As a short term measure, try parking with the nose pointing down hill, this should help. The rings themselves aren't expensive, but it's a time consuming job.
