....Finally here! Hello Gents, am Nathan, just signed up because it was in my best interest!

! Am 25 and have been a grease-monkey for... 9 years now! I wanted a car that was rear wheel drive and since my insurance went down last November...it might as well be a v6...Hadn't driven for 2 years and thought if am gonna spend money on driving again, I might as well enjoy it!! I remembered the only v6 i ever drove during my apprenticeship...my boss's 2.5 elite!
Of all the lovely cars I drove, I never forgot that car...especially on the motorways! ...And really this is the first v6 I've really worked on! So am still learning!!
I bought a 2.5 cdx omega Auto in Oct 2009...off eBay from Essex for 350 quid, with 112,300 miles in gray! It had a oil leak and high temperature! But it was a very tidy bargain, I didn't realize 350 quid could buy so much!! I had to rethink what I was gonna do to the car.
The car had 3 owners in the same area in Essex, it seemed to be a Sunday car!! Reading up on it...on this site..I stripped the cooler out and dipped it in BnQ de-scaler, which was as good as new....then refitted!
Fitted new Spark Plugs, new cam cover gaskets (major oil leak), full service, crank shaft sensor, new battery, Fuel Additive, cleaned the breathers and found 3 fault codes. ( X2 Immobilizer Faults, X1 Crankshaft Sensor Fault code).
I didn't realize the car had a dash A/C cooler, and it was left on/open...hence the new battery, and the A/c pump went after some miles, so got one after a struggle!
The front air in-take is all off and the A/c pump is out, so i bought a timing belt so it can be fitted at the same time.
The only problem i have is not being able to get hold of a v6 timing belt fitting tool kit at a decent price!.... Now... being honest.... I've only done a few timing belts in my short career... each one was new to me...easiest was the fiesta, cos i started my apprenticeship at Ford Dagenhams!!...
I know the v6 timing is easy to do... but the only part I don't get is the part when i have to line up the actual roller tensioners! Been doing a lot of reading and there's a lot of conflicting opinions on how they should be lined up! In fact...there's a little conflict in opinion on how to do the timing procedure over all...i.e... (whether to remove the spark plugs or not first).!! So am still in doubt if I can do it exactly right, because it seems its an easy timing belt to change, but a lot room for error!!
A lot of mobile mechanics have let me down this Christmas, lying they would TURN UP with the tool kit and fit the belt for me...an easy 80.00 quid for them as the car was stripped down already and I was willing to box it up again!!...So that was Christmas and new year celebrations out the window...I just got desperate in fact, just seeing the car sitting there in the snow, the car has spent Christmas with the fan belt hanging off covered under snow, with all the bits in the boot! the new battery is now flat too!! ..
Got new pads, Omega 2000 door strips, A/C pump...new black Clear Glass angel lights.
I got 4 months Tax and 5 Months MOT with it...and that's running out soon ... and I haven't really got the chance to drive it!... so PLEASE Gents...anyone who can give me some input to get this car on the road...I would much appreciate it thanks!
Does anyone know a place where I can still buy or rent a timing tool kit please?
Can anyone do the timing for me and I sort them out please, then I can learn something new too!

!?!
Am also thinking about fitting the early dash Philips Carin (VDO) SAT NAV system, but I have a 1996 Omega so am not sure on compatibility! :exclamation :question ! please?
