hello
« on: 18 February 2010, 16:52:11 »

hi,
I'm about totake a 2.2dti elite from afriend.
I've been here before - had a 2.6 v6 petrol with gas conversion.
Frightened the life out of me (and my wife) it blew a fuse at random - killed engine and hence pas and brakes - a major problem half way round a very busy roundabout at 5pm on a Friday.
Took 8 weeks to sort - heating element in drivers seat framed to earth when my bottom moved into a certain position. Even then it took the dealers three attempts to get the right part!
I had many helpfulsuggestions on this forum for which I thanked everyone at the time and do so again in anticipation for the future.
the elite has already had a towbar (detachable ) fitted by my friend and I and when the weather improves will get its twin electrics ( smart relays )fitted.
A few minor problems exist - rear blind doesn't lift -thought the relay operates - and the reverse buzzer's faint - lookout maplins.
the plan is to fit one of these multi function radio/dvd/tv/satnav units to avoid sticking my tomtom PDA and phone cradle on tothe dash.
Will post info on that in due course as I'm sure it will be of interest.
Good luck and happy mototring to all
