Do this sensor first and see how she runs. Knock sensor is not a hard job either, just make sure you route the cable out of harms way.

regardless of DIS pack condition, code 19 means your crank sensor is knackered, and that needs to be your first port of call, especially it it's rev limiting...

Ok any idea how much a new one costs may be cheaper if i get it sent over from the UK perhaps through TC???

From what I understand the dis pack is an electronic box that supplies the energy to the spark plug, as the distirbutor did on older engines. I am sure someone will correct me if this is incorrect

No, I read too quickly.

I thought you had done the crank sensor. It is a 10 minute job. Part is about Ģ45 new and needs one special torx socket. If you are going to be working on your car ( and if an Omega, you WILL be!) get a set of torx sockets from www.machinemart.com

Sensor is right by the oil filter hosuing on the passenger side of the engine. Cable is currently fed down the back of the engine from the connector near the wiring harness at the top right rear of the engine. New routing will bypass the old and needs to be done so that the cable is nowhere near the hot manifold!

TC approx Ģ40gbp+ 17.5% VAT, so around Ģ50.

If you do need to get one on TC, give me a shout, I have a TC card.

Yep, prety much. A pig of a location, but hold fire on that for now until you have done the crank sensor.

When you do the crank sensor, the knock sensor code will probably clear itself with a bit of time, when the engine is running right again. The knock sensor may only be flagging a code because it's sending duff info back to the ECU, because of the rev limiting and poor running.

Basically, they are likely to be related.

There is a HOW2 in the maintenance guide for crank sensor replacement. I personally would cut the old sensor off, and leave the old wire where it is.
