Hi Ive just joined because I am looking to buy an omega if I can find one in decent condition, preferably a FL 3.0, 3.2 MV6 or Elite model. Ive always loved these cars and think you get sooo much for your money, I miss my old Carlton 2.0 CD with GSI bodykit which I had as my second ever car and hope the Omega will bring as many smiles to my face as that did. Went to look at a silver 3.0 Elite in childer thornton cheshire today for £1500 and oh what a sad state it was in, looked great on the autotrader advert but when I got there it had paint (not just laquer) peeling off both front and back bumpers bubbling on one back arch and the other was completely rotten, all 4 wheels were badly kerbed, interior was clean though, so I started it up and immediately noticed the exhaust was blowing so looked at that and was also completely rotten with rust, looked underneath and the sump was black with a coat of oil so must have an oil leak somewhere, so still thought it may be worth a punt lots of things to knock the dealers price down and I would change wheels and exhaust anyway so asked for service history and all he had was book with stamps in and no evidence of cambelt change, its the first one Ive looked at please tell me they havent all been mistreated like this
