dented sump

How much of an issue will this be?

Would I get away with this or might it cause oil pickup problems

I ran around with a V6 sump dented more than that for a few months with no problems. I replaced it and now the bugger is leaking on my drive1  >:( It can wait a few thousand miles though till I do another oil change.

I wouldn't think so, unless it's leaking.

thats the thing you see, I don't want to take it off as it probably won't seal right when I put it back on, think I will leave it as it is for now unless someone gives me a good enough reason not to.

As it looks only a minor dent, I can't see it causing a problem, assuming the pluf reseals after next oil change...

Agreed, I would take it off only if you had another one to swap it with.
