Plug lead mixup
« on: 11 November 2006, 19:15:52 »

Ok, I need to know very simply, which holes my plug leads go into on the 2.0, dependant on which number is written on the dispack. I know the number 1 on the DIS goes into the plug nearest the cam belt, but that's all I know.

Which holes do the other leads go in?

Can anyone do me a pic or a diagram?

Cheers

The cylinders count from 1 at the front to 4 at the back.

From DIS pack no 1 connect an HT lead to spark plug no 1
Repeat for DIS pack 2 - 4 to spark plugs 2 - 4 bearing in mind that Marks DTM has told you that no 1 is at the free end onf the crank shaft ie the cam belt end/front of the engine.
1342 is just the firing order, so unless you have retro fitted a dizzy to your car ;) don't worry about the firing order!!

cheers guys, that makes sense

The only downer on that, is I believe, based on this, that I have it in the correct order already

On this basis, I'm absolutely buggered as to why it would backfire like that!!!!!
