Remember the old girl ...  - things happen rather slowly on the car.

Well the MOT wasn't actually due before (clerical slip), so I've had the best part of a month to dig around and see if I can get to the bottom of this.  Alas, things are the same.

Idler has no play in it to pull at.
Re-examined both sides front suspension parts - nothing seen.
Renewed (more for the sake of it) steering fluid - well what you can.  I understand it will recirculate the fluid so should sort of flush through.  The fluid removed was in an okay state - not new, but not bad looking either.

Went for it's mot, expecting a fail or note that would indicate the problem - even mentioned to examiner (not my idea, but still).  Passed mot without even an advisory, examiner couldn't see anything a miss (mot wise).

Stumped now, where do I go with this.  
A second option?  - anyone fancy telling me where I've gone wrong.
An incorrect setup (if possible) to correct it out?

Mine had the left pull...strange thing was it seemed okish on the motorway, but driving slowly it had quite a drastic left pull sometimes...
I had it tracked...and it still pulled left...then it turned out that the subframe had moved (a gentle kerbtapping on the north circ avoiding someone pulling over (the n/s tire was .25" closer to the rear of the wheelarch than the drivers side...take a caliper and check the gap..)...so I had the subframe realigned & retracked...but still a pull...Then the n/s idler...still the same...
Then I had the front and rear wishbone bushes on both sides replaced...and it finally goes straight ...)
BTW...the garage did a mod on the breather (drilling it out) and it seems a bit smoother now too...
Now I just wish I could get rid of the idle tickover vibration...

Try changing your fuel company. I've had Shell, BP, BP Uultimate, Tesco Super & many others and vibration through gearstick at idle everytime - switched to Texaco standard unleaded (2p per litre dearer mind you) and it's beautifully smooth - can't explain it but very happy.

Funny you should say that… I normally use BT Ultimate, but a couple of weeks ago had to fill-up with what was available at the nearest garage and ended up with Texaco High Octane – I thought the car felt stronger than with BT Ultimate, but then I put it down to my imagination… hmmm… interesting… Texaco might have something under their pump…

(is this the beginning of a new fuel thread I wonder…?)

Replaced complete track rods and had it tracked.
Still pulled to the Left on roads with a camber.
Discussed with 2 local garages about having 4 wheel tracking.
Both said the same , may well be wasting my money as indeed some cars are designed to follow the camber of the road and i may find car pulling to the offside if over adjusted- into oncoming traffic !

Both tracking and 4 wheel tracking are a waste of money imho.  A proper full geometry is a better option.  See one of our member's website - http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk

I could be a camber problem, or something wrong at the rear (4 wheel alignments do NOT adjust rear tracking).

Equally, it could be 'tyre drift' - swap the fronts over with each other (if directional tyres, only do this briefly to test!!) and see if it improves it...
