Does you EML have a spanner sticking out of a car or an image of an engine block?

That's your Emissions light - if the other one comes on it will put your car into limp home mode, reset your timing and make it as fast as a slug.

The emissions light means that the exhaust emissions are too high.  This may be caused by many things but the first thing to check is that all your hoses are tight, with no splits especially around the bellows on the big pipe from the air box.  Next IMO would be to clean the breathers out.  It may be a faulty Lambda (O2) sensor or MAF sensor amongst others.

If the pipes are ok do a paperclip test and post the results - we can then identify the fault code and help fix it.

If it flashes on and off it means you may be killing your cat - and they're expensive to replace.

For what it's worth mine's been on for 6 months and is the reason I came here  - but I got rid of it this week.  ;) :y

Edit - Oh 'dangle berries' didn't know you only had 1 light  :-[
