lost power after 2000 revs

i was driving down the road wen some idiot thought it was funny to tailgate me so i put my foot down got to about 65 wen the car all of a sudden started to slow down and i just heard a hissing noise every time i tuoched the accelarator it drives ok about 30mph and as soon as the revs go over 20000 revs it goes like crap i popped the bonnet and while i was looking i burnt my hand on hot air , now when u look a 25 v6 lump to the left of the lump there is what seems to be a pump air is pissing out of this , what i want to know is this the problem or have i found another one and if u know what i am on abuot is it a pump that i am descibing :y

Can't think of any air pipes on the left, unless it is part of the air injection - if this has gone, then its like having a blowing manifold...

Also, any EML, if not, does EML come on with ignition?

no eml ,it is on the left of the lump it sits a bit higher and has a electical connector on the top

If its the small black pipe below the aux belt tensioner then its on the left side when looking at the car then its the air injection and you have a blocked drivers side cat or centre section on the exhaust........

Sounds like EGR...

Yes, if that failed, it would be bloody hot (exhaust gases)...

Is there an actual hole in it, or is it gasket, or is it valve itself. If valve, blank it off (PM Issunaz, he made some blanks)

looks like it is a gaskit air is blowing out all the way round where it is joined

i all so recently disconnected my secondary air injection pump as i was told this was later taken off the later facelift model this wouldnt of made a difference would it

Electrically disconnected it? Thats no problem...

Replace the gasket, but may also be worth blanking it anyway....

yeah just pulled the electrical connecter plug off the top of the pump
