Scan done this afternoon
« on: 16 September 2007, 17:49:54 »

I just got in from my Hospital trip today. As usual I cannot fault the pleasant and helpful staff at the MRI unit of QMC in Nottingham. MRI scan is not painful of course, but I was uncomfortable as I had to lay on my back (which I cannot normally do) and stay there in this tube for 30 minutes without moving my back at all.

It was very obvious that the scan took longer than the last ones have and they made sure that the screen was off when I came out. I asked if everything was ok to see what they did. They couldn't look at me when they said your consultant will be in touch very soon. Usually it is 'looks fine and you will get the results in a few weeks'.

Perhaps I am pre-empting bad news, but I have that feeling!

Anyway, thanks for the many posts of good wishes and PMs. We will see what is what soon enough.

I too will keep my fingers crossed that your Feeling is wrong, and its not too bad,
you know yourself that you will probably be on the Operating table, but lets just hope that its the intervertebral disc, and nothing to do with the Spinal cord.

Good luck m8!  I hate the MRI, being a bit large I kinda wedge into it and the vibrations make the claustrophobia even worse.

Next time ask them if they found Mr. Lemmiwinks.  That'll break the tension.  :P ;D

Well, now you've had the medical equivalent of a Tech2, all you can do is wait. I have my fingers crossed for you, Fin, and I hope you're completely wrong about "that feeling"!

Good luck, mate.  :y
