Air con Compressor

Question on clutch activation on copmpressor, not regassed have to fit new high pressure pipe set , because of this does the car system not activate the clutch till gassed  ( clutch works ok ) no power at plug.

The air conditioning system has a pressure valve that disables the compressor clutch to protect it if the system pressure is below a certain level.

Thanks kevin I thought it was something to do with the system as a safe guard did not think the plug had failed was working ok before. but had to check on this.
