Chipping an Elite????

Hi again all, I have a 1999 omega elite 3ltr. If I get it chipped what sort of results would I get with regards to BHP & fuel consumption????

ha ha ha me again ......... once again i can say i chipped my 3.0 omega, many have said dont bother but i did anyway.........

with a free flow exhaust, cone filter, chip , mine made i think 246bhp... what chip it was i have no idea......... .. but yes i think it made a difference not much il be honest...

as for fuel well i cant help you there as i only ran about the track at 100% throttle ;D

Oh I can thoroughly recommend the Mtek chip. Quite a few others will too :)

Gains on an auto are most noticeable on the start off (much quicker) and over 4k rpm.
In power terms I would say 10% (normally aspirated remember so gains are limited).

Fuel economy was slightly improved, when I was driving sensibly...  ::)

I had the MTek chip on my last Omega auto which Timbuks dad now owns and I can say its well worth the money :y

thats settled it for me - i'm going to get one - deliberated for ages.....Is Mr M Tek still on the scene here since selling his Omega?

what about remaps as apposed to chips?

As far as I'm aware the Mtek chip replaces the ECU chip & is in effect a re-map?

I got one a few weeks ago from him.  Works fine and a worthwhile improvement.  10 minute job to fit.....

Just need to replace a leaking the vacuum tank and one multiram vacuum actuator  (COOOEEEE...  TIMBUK !!!   ;D  ) and it will be all fandabbydozzy!

For the 2.2Dti he has two options....a tuning box or a re-map.....drop him a PM for details...
