Engine revs with climite control
« on: 19 May 2007, 22:03:49 »

lately when i put my heaters/Air con on the engine doesn't up the revs. since ive had the omega its always raised the idle to about 1,200rpm when i use the fans for either A/C or heating. now it doesn't adjust idle at all,and my aircon has gone a bit warm  :o

with out the revs going up could that stop AC working?

or am i dealing with two problems here? regas and idle?

thanks

It won't engage compressor if gas low, and hence would tell engine to up revs a little.  But 1200rpm sounds very, very high.

1200rpm!!!!!

With aircon off (eco on) the rpm should be 450-500rpm adn with it on it should be about 600-650 rpm.....

Normaly, if there is no rpm change it sudgests no gas in the aircon system....

For now, leave the system on "eco" (press the eco button on dash) and lookat what the revs are when the engine is warm.

If it is above 500ish rpm then you have an air leak, which will be doing your fuel economy no favours!

Had my air con re gassed last night at work for Free ;D and happy days it is freezing in there now! I was glad to get out ;D
Rpm has gone up now to about 600 like you have all said when the Climate is on, also it drops to about 500 hundred when ECO is switched on. But when i pressed the ECO when i was in Park the engine stalled, i re started the car and did it again but blipped the throttle a little which stopped it from stalling and it sat happily at 500 RPM again... is this right?
The other thing is why would you want to press the ECO button anyway when you have the Climate on?
Thanks Guys :y

The stalling is possibly down to your ICV not reacting quickly enough.
Give it a clean and lubrication and see if it helps.

ECO  button is there to have climate control on but without aircon assistance (pointless really...)
