up until yesterday my miggy has been as smoth as anything, the drive hme last night i noticed a slight judder at certain points.

normally on light throttle, especially after the car had been on overrun for a short while and the throttle was being reapplied, today it is getting increasingly worse to the point where it is misfiring occasionally on idle.

i think it is the dispack and am in the process of getting the item off to have a look for identifying bosch pt numbers, are there any other items that  could possibly be suspect.

we have no trouble codes on the dash BTW

Lack of fault codes supports your theory, as these are not monitored on DIS pack engines. The fact that it's happening at low load and idle points more towards DIS in my opinion, as plug or HT problems tend to appear at high load (worst at high throttle openings and low RPM).

No guarantees it's not elsewhere but having a look is a good option as you may find it to be corroded.

Do check the plug leads and plug wells for oil to....

one end of the dispack was very rusty and had broken the plastic protection.

i have checked the plug wells and they seem to be ok, the plugs will be coming out tomorrow as well, they will need changing no douby, they have done 25,000 miles

this sounds familiar today.....

check HT leads and spark plugs, also plug wells for oil ( cam covers) then it looks like dispack from there.....dont think dispack will show a fault code, will it?

If the missfire is bad enough the EML will come on and missfire on cylinder ? should get recorded in the ECU...

Mine does it.....only on idle sometimes.....rev it and the miss goes away.
It used to only do it when it first switched to lpg but is getting a bit worse now.
Doesnt do it on petrol.

My VectraC is nearly the same.....that gives a slight miss at about 1500rpm underload.....again on petrol it doesnt do it.

I know for a fact its the coil pack on the veccyC causing it.
I suspect the coil pack on the Omega too.

LPG will find weakness's on ign system......i know yours isnt lpg......but once a dis/coil pack starts to give a weak spark......its only going to get worse and will eventually show on petrol.

In my experience of vx's once you've got to 100k.....your on borrowed time with the coil pack

Only on coil-per-cylinder models, not single DIS pack.

well did the dispack.....what a nightmare that was.

Still missing   just done a 140 mile round trip and it was getting worse and worse as time went on, pulled up on the drive and there is steam coming out from under the bonnet, but yet no water loss from the system!!!!!

will now only run on 6 if it is running wide open throttle or when the cruise control was set and it is cruising on a flat road, anything else and it is missing and running on 5

HBV was replaced last year, so i am hoping that isn't giving me stress again

As your probably aware.....check leads and oil wells for oil - cam miss due to cam covers leaking, after that dispack...

does it do this from cold or only at operating temperature?

all the plug wells are dry, no oil or water.

it does it all the time, but it is worse at normal temp, there doesnt seem to be any air leaks, i have cheked all the pipework and it all seems to be in place as well

fitted new plugs, the old ones were a caramel colour and looked ok.

one of the plug leads fell apart when I went to change the plugs, checked the rest of them and they seemed to be ok.

HOWEVER, the thing is still missing, this time it is now completely random, more when it is under load, ie, pulling a hill, it is running on 4 or possibly 5. sometimes it will come on when you are pulling away.

it idles smootly, never misses at this point and will cruise for ages without missing a beat, and then the next time it will run as rough as hell

any ideas

My money is on that DIS pack. Not a big job, takes about 30 minutes when you have done a couple. Give yourself about 3 hours first go though.

dispack has been done, now searching for other items
