Fidley Job or What??
« on: 29 May 2007, 11:29:56 »

Fitting new plug leads i thought was really fidley ;D
The leads i changed were in a colax cable, so would they be orginal vauxhall leads do you think?
Also spark plugs say BOSCH on them, but the little round electrode has flat edges :o i wondered if they were orginal too..... 111,000 miles what do you reckon?? :y

Vx use re-branded Bosch plugs - the Bosch P/N is showing on the metal base of the Vx plugs. The plugs that were factory fitted to my car were not even re-branded but just said 'Bosch'.

When you get the new Vx plugs, check the Bosch P/N on the metal bases of both plugs and compare them - this way you will know if the plug you took out was the right model for the car.

Also, if your engine is 2.5/3.0 you will have the two-electrode plugs, if it is 2.6/3.2 it will be the four-electrode ones.

I have taken a photo of one of my old plugs don't really think you can see the straight edges that well though

i had this discussion with my local friendly stealer......

the guy behind the counter was 110% certain that the 2.5 used 4 electrode plugs, i wasn't so convinced and queried it, he told me that 'i have many years experience of vauxhalls, i know what i am talking about'

quite clearly not!!!

Will it do any harm running 4 electrodes in a 2.5?
