I've recently bought another PC for home. No 1 son set it up and rather than outlook express used the Windows Mail for the email. I don't know about for others but when I send my wife an email at work if she clicks on the reply 'button' to reply it just gets returned to her, if she sends an email from scatch it's fine. The old PC worked OK.
Any ideas? All answers to be in plain English please. For those old enough to remember them I'm at Janet & John level in the equivalent of PC talk.

Is the senders email address configured in your MS Mail account on your home pc?

It'll be interesting if this turns out to be the solution, as "reply to" is not necessary unless you want any replies to to go a different address than the one you're sending from. The default reply address is the sender address.

I haven't used Windows Mail, but going by Microsoft's past record in adhering to standard specifications for e-mail, I wouldn't be surprised if this is yet another "feature".

Haven't played much with it, so all my suggestions would be stabs in the dark....

Its vista's built in replacement for outlook. Its a very common fault that is supposed to be fixed with vista sp1

I use outlook 2007 , with my office 2007 package and that is fantastic!

Which version of office 2007 have you got as i would much rather be using outlook. had it on my previous and loved it.

Hi,

I got the full office 2007 enterprise, comes with outlook, word, excel, publisher, powerpoint, access, groove, infopath and onenote. Its absolutely brilliant. Faster, visually much nicer than the previous. I can use mine legally as i have a corporate licence. So can install it on a numerous pc's

Before spending £ why not download Mozilla Thunderbird and have a look at it? If you don't like it you can always uninstall it and delete it!

The error you get when attempting to reply will give you a clue, somewhere in the error message it will quote the email address it has attempted to send to (and failed) check this carefully for any error, comma instead of full stop, name typo etc.

The address that the (work pc) attempts to "reply to" is configured on the client (your home PC) check the spelling etc on the configuration of the "reply to" address on the home PC. 99 times out 100 this is the problem.
