Is it normal that the response is delayed somewhat (approx 2 to 3 secs) after putting your footdown...

a)  if not normal then what's the potential cause?
b)  if it is normal, is there a way of getting more of a quicker response?


Hope this isn't too much of a numpty question!!!  :-/

My 1999 3.0 mv6 has instant power all be it with the traction control sticking its nose in, this cuts the power and seems to cause a delay in power, sure its not this?

Worth a try I suppose - although haven't had my TC turned off for a while (kids always in the car) so shall have to go and find my way around the damp Tesco car park around the corner 8-) ... will let you know   Will also see if mine does the same as yours is acting at the moment. TTFN

  Nice one, the TC is a pain in the butt, i'd remove mine completly if I could be bothered, just press the TC switch to turn it off and floor it, see if it helps your power delay, fingers crossed you aint got a seemingly jammed on TC system lol

Well the delay is still there - TC system works good on mine - much much better when it's turned off  

However in answer to your query mine didn't cut the power on wheel spinning so a few raised eyebrows from the old birdies waiting for the bus just outside the carpark

I'm debating that the delay is the actual weight of the car playing a part?? :-/
V6 performs so much better above 2500 revs.

For those saying the TC is naff, the idea is that at the point of wheelspin (and it will just start to wheelspin before TC applies brakes (later ones), then cuts power) you need to reduce power yourself (in the same way as trying to get quickest start if you didn't have TC....

It is drive by wire so either electronics confused or the throttle bodies need a good clean

Get someone to blip throttle quick and hard, should see them move...
