Excellent guide.
How much metal can be removed when refacing the pump before it has to be scrapped?

i first did this mod back in 1996 when my gaffer managed to tosser a gearbox in 43000 miles,at that time i made a thrust washer out of phosphur bronze and screwed it on the back of the pump with countersunk screws,(sonnax were not around then i believe)im sure i removed about 2mm of metal.but if you look at the pics thats probably about the most you can remove, as the recesses in the pump for the thrust washer to locate in will not support any more.(bye the way i apologise for the typos but the gist is there)
