Traction Control
« on: 01 July 2007, 09:38:17 »

Morning everyone....further advise/help would be appreciated.....following on from problems yesterday with eratice running and stalling error code 22 was discovered..so replaced tps with new gm part..drove back from dealers 50 + not a problem..restatred few hours later and again drove about 20 miles with several stops..didn,t miss a beat..went out last night..again all was fine ..on way home revs went bit erratic and traction control light came on ...autogearbox appeared in dash display and car ran like bag of nails..limped home but as late left till this morning...have started and on over 10 restarts tc light comes on and stays on ..have not moved car off driveway as assume will go into limp mode...tick over again erratic and did stall several times but might just have been cold?did paperclip test agin and only reading was again 22..but this may not have cleared rom earlier issues...any ideas as where i look now as would seem to be electrical?thanks again guys

Speedo was working fine yesterday showing correct readings..just started again and still tc light on and very erratic tickover between stalling and 1000rpm..up and down all time..does it look like my fears were more than tps sensor as would like to feel the £70 + i spent yesterday was not total waste ???have read somewhere else that ICV can get blocked and cause erratic running..but would this put tc light on at every start up?

Sorry, would need to read codes to see why TC on.

Worth checking tps wiring...

The facts do get more confussing?as needed to use car decided to risk it,but before i went out unplugged cable from tps and refitted then did the same with icv and pushed that as hard as i could back into its housing as they never seem to fit tight.Started engine expecting to still see tc light but all out and runs fine.So am unsure if it was plug on tps or icv loose/combination of the two or icv not tight in mountings..anyway it is running ok so will leave well alone now in the vain hope it has cured it...incidentally only stored fault code is 22 but expect that will clear after 20ish good starts

Visual inspection is best way. If it seems to improve when messing with tps, that would suggest it will be connector, or loom near it...
