Front Top mounts Replacement Info
« on: 03 July 2007, 09:23:48 »

Does anyone have some photos of the front top mounts, I have to replace mine And I would not mind seeing some picys of them before i try and figure out how to remove mine, and find out what part has failed. I am kind of working in the Dark here As I have never done anything like this before  :-[

Doesn't dismantling these from the car and subsequant re-installation also requires a reset of the geomtery and camber? Not sure if your aware of the potential add on jobs for this job - will stand corrected if talking a load of kak :-/

hi sorry cant take apart as i dont have spring compressor, and these are going on to
my car soon as the spring has broken on mine, but if get the other one off
sooner i will see if i can find a spring comp from a friend. Looking at it its just a matter
of stripping it down changing the top mount then re assembling.
When you put them back on the car, get new bottom bolts as they are stretch bolts.
Cheers Pete

Its a while ago I changed my shocks, but seem to recall that spring sits against bearing, so yes, compressor required...
