Aerial masts - fitting different type
« on: 13 July 2007, 09:49:36 »

Wonder if anyone can help with this idea?

Recently been going through a bout of getting my aerial nicked (roof mounted screw in type on a pre-face lift estate) so been taking it off each nite/when I park.

My brother in law just written off his Saab so I got his roof 'shark fin' aerial with the idea of putting it on my 'Meega.
Nothing to remove, come from a car with it fitted as standard (so I know it works)

So,
i) Can it work on the 'Meega?
ii) who would be best to fix it - ICE specialist or a body shop? (And, no, I dont want to do it myself so as to maximise its chances of success)

Be interested to know what people think

Is it actualy a radio aerial and not simply a GSM/GPS antenna?

E.g. My CDx has a car phone, it uses the rear screen as the radio aerial and the small tit on the roof as the GPS/GSM antenna....

Far as I know. This is from one without the additional rear quarter screw in aerial (like the current models)

Should I check with a saab dealer then?
